About

Morro Ventures is located on the 9th floor of the Banco Popular Building in Old San Juan. When it was completed in 1939, it was the tallest building in the Caribbean at the time.

Morro Ventures is Puerto Rico’s first institutional early-stage venture capital firm investing in technology companies across Latin America, particularly those that operate in or can leverage Puerto Rico as a platform for cross-border growth. A thriving Latin American tech ecosystem provides high-quality deal flow and expanding market opportunities for young companies, many of which view Puerto Rico as an entry point to the U.S. and Caribbean markets.

The Fund supports the Puerto Rican entrepreneurial ecosystem, which has been growing rapidly under the auspices of the local non-profit accelerator program Parallel18. Since its inception in 2016, Parallel18 has received over 1,000 applications per year from over 50 countries, from predominantly Latin America, and has fostered the growth of up to 80 companies per year that the program attracts to the island.

Morro Ventures is led by experienced Puerto Rican private equity investor Cyril Meduña and formerly NY-based venture investor Allison Kern.
