Profile Cyril Meduña is a seasoned investor and business leader with over three decades of experience in private equity, corporate finance, and entrepreneurial development. As the Founder and Managing Partner of Advent-Morro Equity Partners — Puerto Rico’s first and largest private equity firm — Cyril has played a transformative role in shaping the island’s investment landscape. Education & Early Career Cyril holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a Master of Business Administration from George Washington University. Before founding Advent-Morro, Cyril established Meduña & Co., Inc., a local broker/dealer specializing in corporate finance. He began his professional journey at Chase Manhattan Bank in New York, where he later led the formation of Chase’s Investment Bank in Puerto Rico. Investment Leadership Under his leadership, Advent-Morro Equity Partners has partnered with more than 50 companies across diverse sectors, including healthcare, telecommunications, and utilities. Notable investments include MCS, Centennial, and AquaVentures. As of December 31, 2018, Advent-Morro’s active portfolio companies collectively generated over US$3.5 billion in annual sales and employed more than 3,500 people, significantly contributing to Puerto Rico’s economic growth.
